چکیده

A novel range-instantaneous-Doppler (RID) algorithm of inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging based on adaptive Doppler spectrum extraction is proposed in this paper. Regarding maneuvering targets, such as military aircraft, the ISAR image is blurred on cross-range domain when the range-Doppler (RD) algorithm is applied. The RID imaging method is often used to resolve the Doppler ambiguity but there are some scattering points that could be lost because the sliced time is fixed in traditional RID imaging. To the method proposed in this paper, the optimal Doppler spectrum of each range bin is extracted by gradient energy function (GEF) after time-frequency (TF) analysis and then all of the optimal Doppler spectrums are combined to obtain a final 2-D RID image of the target. Compared with the traditional RID method, the novel algorithm can obtain image with better focused quality. The results obtained from simulated and field-measured data verify the superiority of the proposed algorithm.

ISAR Image Improvement Using STFT Kernel Width Optimization Based On Minimum Entropy Criterion

Nowadays, Radar systems have many applications and radar imaging is one of the most important of these applications. Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) is used to form an image from moving targets. Conventional methods use Fourier transform to retrieve Doppler information. However, because of maneuvering of the target, the Doppler spectrum becomes time-varying and the image is blurred. Joi...

ISAR Imaging of Maneuvering Targets Based on the Modified Discrete Polynomial-Phase Transform

Inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging of a maneuvering target is a challenging task in the field of radar signal processing. The azimuth echo can be characterized as a multi-component polynomial phase signal (PPS) after the translational compensation, and the high quality ISAR images can be obtained by the parameters estimation of it combined with the Range-Instantaneous-Doppler (RID)...

ISAR Imaging of Ship Targets Based on an Integrated Cubic Phase Bilinear Autocorrelation Function

For inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging of a ship target moving with ocean waves, the image constructed with the standard range-Doppler (RD) technique is blurred and the range-instantaneous-Doppler (RID) technique has to be used to improve the image quality. In this paper, azimuth echoes in a range cell of the ship target are modeled as noisy multicomponent cubic phase signals (CPSs...

(Microsoft Word - ISAR Imaging of Targets with Complex Motion Based on the Chirp Rate \250CQuadratic Chirp Rate Distribution)

In inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging of targets with complex motion such as fluctuating ships with oceanic waves and high maneuvering airplanes, the azimuth echo signals can be modeled as cubic phase signals (CPSs) after the migration compensation. The chirp rate (CR) and the quadratic chirp rate (QCR) are two important physical quantities of the CPS, which deteriorate the azimuth...

ISAR Imaging of Ship Target with Complex Motion Based on New Approach of Parameters Estimation for Polynomial Phase Signal

ISAR imaging of ships at sea with significant motion results in the Doppler frequency shift for the received signal is time-varying, which will deteriorate the ISAR image quality for the Range-Doppler (RD) algorithm. In this paper, the received signal is modeled as a multicomponent cubic phase signal (CPS), and a new method for estimating the parameters of CPS based on the integrated high-order...
